My mother Phyllis Is featured, as one chapter is dedicated to celebrating her journey and  resiliency it took for her to survive her own childhood and somehow raised the passionate, driven, God fearing person before you today!

I want to celebrate my sister Dr. Rev Ahmondra McClendon. She is a beautiful soul who always advocated for us to become the best version of ourselves. She has pinned a powerful book that has captured the stories and experiences of so many of our ancestors. The faces change over the years but the stories are the same for so many women of color. “Shhhhh what happens in this house stays in this house”. Don’t put our business in the streets… Ahmondra has lifted the veil and given a Voice to so many of our stories. This book brings forth an understand of the trauma that we have endured by moving silently through our pain! I’m so proud of her and honored to part of the original founders of this movement “the original queens” as we reclaim our place in history and free ourselves by breaking our silence.
